Many of my readers are familiar with my love of blackout sleep masks. That’s because, when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, it’s important to keep out all light as light is the strongest influencer of your circadian rhythm and inhibits the release of your natural “sleep hormone” melatonin.

Many people don’t even realize how just the seemingly small amount of light streaming through your window or coming in from your door can significantly interfere with your sleep.

Besides the ability to block out light, it’s also important that a sleep mask is comfortable. There are many different types of masks that are made out of different materials; some of which are more comfortable than others when it comes to sleeping with them every night.

As I’ve gotten a little, well older, I’ve realized that my sleep has become a lot more sensitive.  As a teen and in my early twenties, I was able to fall asleep almost anywhere and under any circumstances. Now, I require very specific conditions in order to get my optimal rest.

One of those conditions is either complete silence or soothing sleep sounds. And I’ve realized my husband’s snores are definitely NOT one of those conditions. In addition, a change in schedules led to me being awakened 1 to 2 hours earlier than intended by my husband’s alarm that led to many tiring and frustrating mornings.

That was until I found the perfect sleep headphones.

What are sleep headphones you ask? They are headphones that are meant to be worn while sleeping that generally connect via Bluetooth to your phone and allow you to play your favorite sleep sounds.
